I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker, Traumatologist, and Vocational Rehabilitation Professional who has supported people through trauma, loss, and significant life changes since 2010.
My areas of focus include trauma and PTSD, grief and untimely loss, identity and life transitions, and therapy for therapists and helping professionals. While these may appear to be separate concerns, they are often deeply connected.
Trauma can change how safe you feel in your body, relationships, and daily life. Grief can follow a death, but it can also emerge after the loss of a relationship, role, identity, career, future, or familiar way of living. Major transitions may bring new uncertainty while also activating experiences from the past.
For therapists and helping professionals, these experiences can intersect with the emotional weight of supporting others. You may be carrying client material, experiencing vicarious trauma, questioning your professional abilities, or noticing that your own history is being activated through your work.
When we begin working together, we start by understanding what has changed, what you have been carrying, and what feels most important now. From there, we create a clear path that supports both healing and meaningful movement forward.
Grounded · Insightful · Strategic · Supportive
My work integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, somatic therapy, and solution-focused and strengths-based approaches.
CBT can help you understand and shift patterns that reinforce distress. EMDR can support the processing of traumatic or painful experiences that continue to affect your present. Somatic therapy recognizes that trauma, grief, and prolonged emotional strain may also be experienced through the body.
I view healing through a systems lens. This means recognizing that wellbeing is shaped not only by personal experiences, but also by relationships, culture, identity, community, workplace environments, discrimination, and broader systemic conditions.
Where appropriate, I may also integrate land-based healing, ritual, ceremony, and Indigenous-informed practices. Psychotherapy can offer clarity and understanding, while ritual and ceremony can create grounding, meaning, and a felt sense of transition.
Our work is collaborative and paced according to your capacity, safety, and goals. You will not be expected to revisit painful experiences before you feel ready.
Trauma, grief, and transition often influence one another.
A traumatic experience may involve the loss of safety, identity, trust, or an expected future. Grief may become traumatic when a loss is sudden, violent, or deeply destabilizing. A major transition may bring both possibility and grief for what is being left behind.
Helping professionals may experience these same processes personally while also carrying the emotional demands of their work. Client experiences can activate personal memories, family dynamics, protective responses, or questions about professional identity.
By looking at the full picture, we can address both the immediate distress you are experiencing and the deeper patterns affecting your relationships, identity, work, body, and sense of direction.
In addition to psychotherapy, I offer transition coaching for clients who have begun to feel more stable and are ready to focus on what comes next.
Therapy may help you process trauma, reduce emotional suffering, understand grief, and rebuild a sense of safety. Coaching supports the next phase by helping you translate insight into direction and meaningful action.
Together, we may clarify your goals, strengthen decision-making, rebuild structure, and identify practical steps forward. This can be especially helpful when you:
My coaching approach is structured, grounded, and supportive. The goal is not to rush beyond what happened, but to help you build a future that honours your experiences while no longer being defined by them.
Trauma, grief, and prolonged emotional strain can affect your thoughts, nervous system, physical energy, relationships, identity, routines, work, and overall sense of connection.
At HWP, counselling can work alongside coaching, nutrition, movement practices, and other holistic wellness supports. This integrated approach can help you address both the emotional effects of what you have experienced and the practical areas of life that may need to be rebuilt.
For therapists and helping professionals, whole-person care also recognizes that professional sustainability depends on supporting the person beyond the role. Your wellbeing matters not only because it affects your work, but because you deserve a life that feels connected and sustainable in its own right.
Monday & Thursday 8AM–3PM PST
Tuesday & Wednesday 4PM–9PM PST.
You do not have to erase what happened in order to move forward. Together, we can help you understand what you have been carrying, reconnect with your resilience, and step into what comes next with greater steadiness, meaning, and clarity.
