Support for Reconnecting with Yourself, Your Needs, and Meaningful Intimacy

Hello, I'm Emily

As a Certified Clinical Counsellor at Health and Wellness Professionals, I support women navigating concerns related to sexual wellness, intimacy, relationships, body connection, and personal growth.

Sexual wellness is an important part of overall wellbeing, but it can be difficult to discuss openly. You may be experiencing changes in desire, uncertainty about what you want or need, discomfort communicating with a partner, or a sense of disconnection from your body or sexuality.

You may also be carrying messages about sex shaped by family, culture, religion, past relationships, or difficult personal experiences. These messages can affect self-confidence, self-worth, boundaries, intimacy, and the way you relate to yourself.

My goal is to provide an open-minded and non-judgmental space where you can explore these experiences honestly. Together, we can build greater clarity around your needs, strengthen communication, and support a relationship with sexuality that feels more informed, confident, and authentic to you.

In our work together, clients experience me as

Open-minded · Supportive · Collaborative · Non-judgmental

My therapeutic approach

I use an integrative biopsychosocial approach to counselling. This means understanding sexual wellness through the relationship between your thoughts and values, social and relational environment, and biological experiences.

Because every person is unique, there is no single treatment plan that will work for everyone. I draw from person-centred, existential, mindfulness-based, and solution-focused approaches to tailor our work to your individual experiences and goals.

Together, we may explore the beliefs, expectations, relational patterns, emotional experiences, or physical changes influencing your sexual wellbeing. We can also identify practical ways to communicate your needs, understand your boundaries, and approach intimacy with greater awareness and self-compassion.

Where spirituality or religious beliefs are important to you, they can also be included respectfully in our work. The goal is not to tell you what your relationship with sexuality should look like. It is to help you develop one that feels safe, meaningful, and aligned with your values.

Working with me, you would learn to:

  • Understand the emotional, relational, social, and biological factors affecting sexual wellness
  • Explore concerns about desire, intimacy, body connection, or sexual self-understanding
  • Recognize how cultural, family, religious, or generational messages may influence sexuality
  • Address shame, guilt, anxiety, or uncertainty with greater self-compassion
  • Clarify your needs, preferences, values, and boundaries
  • Communicate more openly and confidently within relationships
  • Navigate differences in desire or expectations with a partner
  • Strengthen self-understanding and self-acceptance
  • Build a more empowered and meaningful relationship with intimacy and sexuality

How my work fits into whole-person care at HWP

Sexual wellness is connected to many areas of life, including emotional wellbeing, physical health, stress, identity, relationships, body connection, values, and cultural experiences.

At HWP, counselling can be part of a broader care plan. When helpful, I can collaborate with practitioners across coaching, nutrition, and complementary wellness services to help you address the different factors influencing your wellbeing.

This whole-person approach recognizes that concerns related to intimacy or sexuality do not exist in isolation. Supporting your sexual wellness may also involve strengthening your relationship with your body, improving communication, tending to emotional health, and creating routines that support connection and overall wellbeing.
