As a Registered Clinical Counsellor at Health and Wellness Professionals, I support individuals who are living with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, emotional disconnection, and the effects of difficult past experiences.
Trauma can influence how you feel in your body, relate to others, respond to stress, and understand yourself. You may feel constantly alert, emotionally overwhelmed, numb, disconnected, or unable to relax even when you are no longer in immediate danger. You may also notice that past experiences continue to affect your relationships, self-worth, boundaries, or sense of safety.
My work is influenced by attachment theory and the ways our early and ongoing relationships shape how we connect with others and with ourselves. Together, we create space to understand your experiences, strengthen your capacity to work with difficult emotions, and build a more compassionate and authentic relationship with yourself.
Compassionate · Grounded · Insightful · Collaborative
I use a client-centred approach and take my cues from the needs, goals, and experiences you bring into our conversations. You remain an active participant in determining the direction and pace of our work.
I draw from EMDR, somatic approaches, mindfulness, Focusing, clinical hypnosis, DBT, expressive arts, and nature therapy. These approaches can help support both emotional understanding and the ways trauma may be experienced through the body and nervous system.
Our work may involve processing difficult experiences, developing greater awareness of your emotional and physical responses, and strengthening your ability to feel grounded and present. I also support you in building an appreciative, authentic, self-advocating, and compassionate relationship with yourself.
Trauma can affect your thoughts, body, relationships, energy, sense of identity, and ability to feel secure in daily life. Healing may therefore involve more than understanding an experience intellectually.
At HWP, counselling can work alongside coaching and complementary wellness services to support the different areas of life affected by trauma. When appropriate, additional forms of care may help you integrate your progress emotionally, physically, relationally, and practically.
Monday- Friday: 8AM-5PM PST
My greatest resources are musical theatre and gardening. If I had my way, life would be a musical where people spontaneously break into song and dance, and city land would be planted with community fruit trees.
You do not need to force yourself to move past what happened. With compassionate support, you can begin feeling safer, more connected, and more at home within yourself.
